A passionate singer with a "world class" voice (Daily Post), Julia was a 2007/08 PricewaterhouseCoopers Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artist and recent winner of the NZ Aria Competition. A "stunning soprano" (Next Magazine) whose youthful vibrance is matched by a presence and a maturity beyond her years, this Kiwi-Canadian has fast become a "striking centrepiece" (www.waikato.ac.nz) among the next generation of New Zealand's opera elite.

From the production Team of the astonishingly successful season of CATS, Hamilton Operatic Society brings Hamilton, The Secret Garden.
Based on the enchanting novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden follows Mary Lennox as she brings to life not only a garden but also those who surround her.

It is the timeless tale of a special place where magic, hope and love grow with beautiful music helping to unite the characters together on their journey.
 
The Secret Garden is that rarest breed of family musical that transcends its own generic category, encouraging a sense of wonder and optimism to become a rewarding experience for viewers of any age.

Directed by David Sidwell, Musical Direction by Campbell Douglas and Choreography by Sean Archer.

Lexus Song Quest

The New Zealand Aria competition is one of Australasia's most prestigious singing competitions. Past winners include Anna Leese, Ben Makisi and Philip Rhodes.
